Friendship Day Fidgets - Tuesday, Aug. 6th, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Bring a friend and make a new friend! Hear a story about friendship and make a fidget of your own to take home. Music on the Porch: Jeff Kilponen and a Drum Jam - Thursday, Aug. 8th, 6:30 p.m. The library will supply small percussion instruments, or you may bring your own. Learn about drumming and participate with us. Music Inside: Mark Palms and the Palooka Brothers - Sunday, Aug. 11th, 2:00 p.m. Keeping Your Land Native and Sustainable with Three Shores CISMA - Tuesday, Aug. 13th, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Join Lilli, our outreach specialist, for a conversation on native plants and composting. Music on the Porch: The Blue Water Ramblers - Thursday, Aug. 15th, 6:30 p.m. Chocolate Wars - Saturday, Aug. 17th, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Call or stop by the library to sign up for this yummy and competitive team event. Great for families! Plan to participate in “Minute To Win It” style activities, trivia, and more. Prizes and tasting included. (limited space, please register.) Invasive Species Discussion Hours with Three Shores CISMA - Aug. 22nd, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Outreach Specialist Lillian LaCross will be available for questions about invasive species. More activities are being scheduled. Please stop at the library to find out about additional programs.

On-Going Events
Pre-School Pop-In - Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Stories, songs and crafts. Kids learn social interaction with others. Alcoholics Anonymous - Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. Alcoholics Anonymous Open meeting available to anyone interested. Seasonal—Memorial Day to Labor Day. Storytime - Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. More songs, read aloud books and crafts. Take and Make Kits contain the basic items for making a special craft. All ages are encouraged to pick up a kit, on a first-come first-served basis while supplies last. Check the Facebook page for new kit notices. Take and Make is sponsored by the Friends of Les Cheneaux Community Library. Story on the Porch Come check out a new story on our covered porch. Take dance breaks as you read “Can You Dance Like A Peacock?” by Rekha S. Rajan. Scavenger Hunts Every month there will be a new scavenger hunt at the library. Look for the hidden pictures/objects, find them all, and get a prize! Little Free Art Gallery This is the art version of The Little Free Library, sponsored by Friends of Les Cheneaux Community Library. The Little Free Art Gallery is on the library grounds and welcomes all types of art. Keep your art small (4"x6") and feel free to take a piece and leave a piece.
